Tansy Troy is an educationalist, performer, writer, composer and creator of bird and animal masks, bringing together literature, theatre, education and the natural world. She writes and composes musical eco-dramas, which she tours across theatres and festivals in India. Her latest book, The Great Nicobar Journey, published by Talking Cub/Speaking Tiger, emerged from her theatrical work and gives the islands’ wildlife a voice as co-authors of the narrative. In 2021, she founded The Apple Press, a journal for young people that brings emerging student voices together with established writers. Her poetry, articles, reviews and illustrations have appeared in publications including The Hindu, Hindustan Times, Scroll India, Open Magazine, Sanctuary Asia and Frontline. She has authored Ratnakosha, With Earth as My Witness and Singing to the Eumenides, while also contributing to several poetry and literary anthologies. Her work explores the connection between people, stories and the natural world, encouraging young readers and audiences to engage with ecological themes through imagination. Her writing has appeared across literary publications and poetry and prose anthologies in India and abroad.
