Vikash has been a theatre practitioner for almost 40 years. He has trained under such eminent theatre persons as Satyadev Dubey, Amrish Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and Sunil Shanbag.
He set up Stagecraft Theatre in Nagpur in 20O3, with a vision to create a platform for theatre and revive ‘theatre-going’ in the cultural ethos of Nagpur and has been credited with bringing about a paradigm shift in the audience's attitude towards theatre, providing a platform and cultivating a growing theatre community. He has directed more than 100 plays (including 7 Shakespearean plays) and has acted in more than 70 of them.
He was recently seen in a web series, 'Sunflower', which is currently streaming on Zee5.
He has also attended theatre workshops conducted by the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), London and regularly mentors and trains theatre enthusiasts and students in acting and speaking, including preparing them for the Trinity College London Speech and Drama examinations.
He is the recipient of several awards including the Smita Patil Award and the Rotary Award for Excellence in Theatre.
