Sucheta Dalal is a senior business journalist and Managing Editor of Moneylife — an online magazine. Awarded the Padma Shri in 2006 for her contribution to investigative journalism, she is best known for exposing the 1992 Harshad Mehta securities scam, among others.
She has co-authored the bestselling books — The Scam, Absolute Power, and, most recently, Pathbreakers, published by Rupa — with her husband Debashis Basu, and has also written the biography of financial pioneer A.D. Shroff. As Founder-Trustee of Moneylife Foundation, she works on financial literacy, investor protection and consumer rights, and has served on several important SEBI and government advisory bodies.
