Sathya Saran was Editor, Femina, for 12 years, a role that established her as one of the most respected names in Indian magazine journalism. During and after this tenure, she went on to write several acclaimed biographies on prominent cultural figures, including Guru Dutt, SD Burman, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, and Jagjit Singh, among others, each offering an intimate look into the lives and legacies of these iconic personalities.
Beyond her work as a biographer, Sathya has also translated two books of poems by Gulzar, along with Yatindra Mishra's critical biography of Gulzar, showcasing her deep engagement with literature and language. In addition, she has authored a book of short stories, besides several other titles across genres.
Continuing to explore new creative avenues, she recently completed a screenwriting course at Oxford University and has just finished writing her first novel, marking an exciting new chapter in her literary journey.
