Dr. Sadhana Shiledar, a distinguished Indian classical music artist and scholar based in
Nagpur, is renowned for her expertise in Khayal Gayaki and semi-classical forms. As the Head
of the Department of Music at Vasantrao Naik Govt. Institute, she holds a Ph.D. in Modern
Classical Music. An All India Radio-approved artist, she has received accolades such as the
'Surmani' award. Dr. Shiledar's extensive research on Raga creation from folk tunes led to
the publication of 'Creative process of Raga creation from the folk tunes.' She has studied
under the guidance of illustrious mentors including her father, Dr. Vivek Gokhale, Pt.
Manoharrao Kaslikar, Pt. Chandrashekhar Rele, and Smt. Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar. Her
performances, innovative programs, lectures, and numerous awards highlight her significant
contributions to the world of Indian classical music.
