Neil D’Silva is a bestselling Indian horror author whose work spans adult, young adult and non-fiction horror. His books include Maya’s New Husband, Yakshini, Pishacha, Playthings and The Curse of the Maharani, and his work has been published by Penguin, Rupa, Hachette and HarperCollins. He has also written for screen, including Ali Baba aur 40 Bhoot on JioHotstar.
A strong advocate of Indian folklore and paranormal horror, Neil has served as President of the India Chapter of the Horror Writers Association and as Jury Chair for the Bram Stoker Awards® in the short story category. He has spoken at literature festivals, TEDx platforms and educational institutions, and mentors emerging writers through the Scholastic Writers Academy. His work has also featured on podcasts including The Ranveer Show, HindiRush, Astro Arun Pandit Show and Khooni Monday’s Ankhon Dekhi. A former teacher and marathon runner, he continues to combine writing with speaking and mentoring.
