Maj Gen C D Sawant,/ Ashraf Wani On Life in Kashmir after Article 370 and its Impacts In Conversation with Lt Col Ateendra Godbole

On 27th Nov 7.00 pm - 7.40 pm

“When it was decided to give special provisions to Jammu & Kashmir, Pandit Nehru sent Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to Dr. Ambedkar to convince him to create the special treaty for Kashmir. Initially, when Pandit Nehru tried to convince him, Dr. Ambedkar denied it. Somehow, for Sardar Patel, Ambedkar created provisions for Kashmir, which was supposed to be temporary. Unfortunately, all central governments have deliberately forgotten about removing these articles since then. The military is not the solution, but it lies with the politicians. The political leader has to solve this problem and convince the people that being with India is beneficial to them. The core talks of being a resident of India with Kashmiri people needed to be done. Those talks of development where funds get vanished won't deter them.”
