Avinash Kaul has spent 28 years in media leadership, including 16 years as a CEO. He built his career without an inherited network or established pedigree, rising through the industry on experience, persistence and a willingness to take on difficult challenges.

He became a CEO at the age of 36. Over the years that followed, leading large media organisations through growth, competition, transformation and transition gave him an inside view of what it takes to lead at the highest levels. It also shaped his understanding of why capable professionals sometimes reach the top while others stall just short of it.

Today, Kaul advises CEOs, founders and boards navigating growth, transition and reinvention. He also coaches senior professionals and speaks about the less visible side of leadership — the clarity, resilience and self-awareness required to keep moving forward.

His 2026 book, The Next Mountain: Notes on Resilience, Leadership and Purpose, written with Priya Kumar and published by HarperCollins, draws on these experiences. The book became an Amazon bestseller and went into reprint within ten days of its launch.
