Short stories, poetry

I’m Anoushka Sabnis, a 14-year-old based out of India. I am a 4-time published author, and hold a World Record for being the “Youngest poet to publish a poetry book internationally (female)”. I enjoy writing poems & prose equally; my first book was a collection of poems, and the others have been short stories. I have won the ‘Gold Award’ twice at the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, organised by the Royal Commonwealth Society. I am a Global Goodwill Ambassador, as recognised by the GGA Foundation, USA, and a member of the Commonwealth Students Welfare Group of India. I also head the Editorial Board of a nationwide student community. Two years back, I founded ‘Biblioverse’, a book-club that encourages reading & writing amongst children & young adults. I have loved reading from a very young age, and started writing at the age of 5. Apart from reading & writing, I enjoy debating, baking & listening to music.

Anoushka Sabnis Sharing her thoughts on, "Importance of reading among children and Young Adults" at OCLF 2021

On 27th Nov 3.00 pm - 3.40 pm

OCLF 2021 witnessed an amazing session on the Importance of Reading among Children and Young Adults by Author and Poet Anoushka Sabnis. She talked about building reading habits and how parents play an important role in helping children start reading. She talked about how reading and setting small achievable goals starts with the parents. The young poet was confident with her answers when asked what changes she would want in the world. She said if she could, she would change the way we see each other. We only see the differences among us, but the world would be a better place if we start seeing each other for our similarities. The session consisted of thrilling questions, rapid-fire, and reading a small excerpt of her book. A fresh take on reading and with so much clarity in her thoughts, Author Anoushka Sabnis hosted a fantastic session at the Orange City Literature Festival 2021!.
