Alok is an editorial cartoonist with Sakal media group since 2011.
He was 15 when he made his first book of cartoons. The book received foreword from RK Laxman, Amitabh Bacchan and APJ Abdul Kalam.
At 16 Alok participated in Rotary club's Youth exchange program to represent india in Canada for a year. His cartoons on life in Canada received letter of appreciation from the Candian prime minister. Alok studied Visual Arts from College of Fine Arts in Bangalore, where is simultaneously worked as cartoonist for the New Indian Express for 4 years. He received Maya kamath award for excellence in political cartooning for the year 2013, 2016 and 2018 from the Indian Institute of Cartooning Bangalore.
He has held exhibitions of his cartoons in Pune, Bangalore, Canada, two of which were inaugurated by his Guru RK Laxman.
Alok beleives that the brush is mightier than the sword. But he also belives that it should mostly be used to only tickle.
