Manish Tewari is a third term Member of Parliament now representing the Chandigarh Constituency (Union Territory) in the House of the People-Lok Sabha from June 2024 onwards.

He was Union / Federal Minister of Information & Broadcasting in the Government of India.

He currently serves on the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Finance, Parliamentary Consultative Committee of the Ministry of External Affairs, Joint Committee of Parliament examining the One Nation one Election Legislation, President, Parliamentary Friendship Group with Australia and Committee on Privileges, Lok Sabha.

During his previous term in Parliament he served on the Parliamentary Standing Committee of Finance and the Parliamentary Consultative Committee of Defense.

He served on the Joint Committee of Parliament that conceptualized the Law on Data Protection.

He also served on the Joint Committee of Parliament that examined the Multi State Cooperative Societies (Amendment Bill) 2022.

Manish Tewari practices Law at the Supreme Court of India & in various other High Courts in India. An International Arbitrator with a specialization in various traditional & new Economy Laws.

He was elected as a Member of Parliament from Ludhiana in Punjab from 2009-2014 and from Sri Anandpur Sahib, Punjab from 2019- 2024.

He was a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council in Washington DC from 2016- 2019.

In addition to his Parliamentary and Professional responsibilities he also is the Senior National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress (INC), General Secretary Foreign Affairs Department of the Indian National Congress and Permanent Invitee–Congress Working Committee (CWC) of the Indian National Congress (INC).

He has authored and published five books engaging with questions of constitutional governance, International law, national security law, and international relations.

He has moved various bills in Parliament including and not limited to providing a legal basis and Parliamentary Oversight over India's Intelligence Agencies and other Law Enforcement structures.

A reputed columnist he writes regularly for a diverse array of National and International Publications on International Relations Strategic Affairs International Security and the new domains of cyber space and Artificial Intelligence.

Manish Tewari was the National President of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) from 1988-1993, President of the International Union of Students (IUS) 1992-1994 and National President of the Indian Youth Congress 1998-2000.
