Debashis Paul, fondly known as an autism dad, is an author, management, and marketing strategy consultant. In his flourishing corporate career, he has worked in the advertising sector with leading global advertising agencies like McCann, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Lintas. He managed advertising for global brands like Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Nestle, HP, Panasonic, Philips, MasterCard, Hyundai, Reckitt Benckiser, Perfetti, and eminent Indian house brands. He also veered into top-level consulting with clients like Pepsico, Bank of India, and several private educational institutions in India.

Much recognized for his book, I Have Autism and I Like to Play Bad Tennis, Debashis has led numerous distinguished national public service campaigns addressing critical issues such as malaria, malnutrition, and women's health for the Government of India in collaboration with UNICEF and the World Bank. He and his ad agency teams have won several awards for advertising and market effectiveness, namely the ABBYS, CANNES LIONS and NEW YORK FESTIVALS.

Apart from his profession, he has consistently been involved in child development psychology and parenting and has contributed to providing professional guidance to the Avaz AAC App, which now operates on a global level with success.

I Have Autism and I Like to Play Bad Tennis is an insightful view of his son's life and Debashis's effort as a supportive parent. With this book, he hopes to transform the restrictive and defeatist attitudes towards autism. His book, launched in April 2023, World Autism Awareness Month, grabbed a lot of attention from mainstream media and new media platforms. Today, He effortlessly volunteers to advise parents having children with learning and communication difficulties. He plays a supportive role in the outreach communications for the theatre group People's Little Theatre, founded by the prominent Indian playwright, director, and actor Utpal Dutt.
