Akshay Chopra is a serial innovation leader, venture builder, angel investor and fintech executive. As Managing Partner of 237 Ventures, he invests in and builds global tech ventures while advising innovative governments and organizations. He is an independent board director for regulated entities. He also serves on the advisory boards of the MENA FinTech Association and the UAE government’s New Economy Academy.

Akshay serves as President & Chief Commercial Officer at Gennius XYZ and was previously Vice President of Innovation & Crypto Solutions at Visa, Inc. across CEMEA (spanning 92 countries). During his eight years at Visa, he built award-winning Innovation Centers in Singapore, Dubai, Kenya, Russia, and Riyadh, and launched digital partnerships and crypto solutions across Asia- Pacific and CEMEA. Earlier, he co-founded the Deloitte Greenhouse in Southeast Asia, led Emerging Markets at Gartner, and began his career at Standard & Poor’s.

Based in Dubai, Akshay holds seven global patents in fintech and payments, has built successful digital banking and eCommerce products, and is widely featured in CNN, CNBC, Harvard Business Review, Forbes, and the Financial Times. He earned his MBA from ISB, BA (Hons) Economics from Delhi University.
