This OCLF session featured policy strategist Vinit Goenka in an insightful conversation with Shabbir Shakir on how grassroots engagement and digital policy together shape the future of a secure and inclusive Bharat. The discussion highlighted how nation-building begins at the booth level but expands into powerful digital frameworks that influence governance, public services, and citizen participation.

Goenka shared practical reflections on digital sovereignty, the need for strong regulation, and the importance of balancing innovation with public safety. He emphasised that the government today acts increasingly as a facilitator and that transformation often progresses in ways the public does not immediately perceive. The conversation also addressed the necessity of a strong opposition for a healthy democracy.

Audience questions brought sharp focus on the impact of AI on jobs and lifestyle changes in the coming decade. The session concluded with a reminder that technology must evolve with consciousness, placing human responsibility at the centre of India’s digital future.
