This hands-on masterclass with artist and educator Smita Aloni introduced participants to the devotional and nature-inspired world of Phad painting. Focusing on sacred trees, traditional symbols, and the storytelling heritage of Rajasthan, the workshop blended cultural insight with practical learning.

Smita Aloni guided attendees through the roots of Phad art, its association with the Bhopa tradition, and the spiritual narratives that shape its motifs. Participants learned how natural colours, traditional tools, and simple compositions come together to create powerful visual stories.

The workshop included live demonstrations, step-by-step instruction, and an immersive art activity where attendees created their own Phad-inspired artwork. Stories, symbolism, and technique came together to offer a memorable learning experience.

The session concluded with participants reflecting on the deep connection between folk traditions, devotion, and artistic expression, leaving with a renewed appreciation for India’s indigenous art forms.
