Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan is an award-winning author of children's books, a poet who loves the rhythm and sound of words, an editor, and a distinguished voice-over artist. She was awarded the Best Narration Award for the film “Rhapsody of Rains - Monsoons of Kerala” in 2022 at the 68th National Film Awards. Shobha is also a former non-profit development professional who spent two decades as an advocate and fundraiser for persons with disabilities.

Shobha has recorded voice overs for documentaries, educational programs, journalistic initiatives, and audiobooks. She has published children’s books in India and the United States, including the award-winning Indi-Alphabet (Mango and Marigold), Prince with a Paintbrush: The Story of Raja Ravi Varma (Westland), and It’s Time to Rhyme (Aleph). The picture book Parvati the Elephant’s Very Important Day (Harper Collins) and the short story collection, A Treasure Trove of Timeless Tales (Red Panda/Westland) are other popular books from her ouvre.

In her first published book for adults, Good Innings: The Extraordinary, Ordinary Life of Lily Tharoor, Shobha unveils her mother Lily Tharoor's extraordinary life story through personal reflections and insights. The result is a collection of teachable moments and vignettes to encourage others toward growth and action.

Shobha’s writing has been anthologized by Tulika Books, Solstice, Skipping Stones and Tinkle Magazine and her stories and poems have been included in school curricula. Her essays and reviews have been published in India Currents, Bizworld, and Scroll.in. Good Innings and A Treasure Trove of Timeless Tales have been translated into Malayalam by Mathrubhumi Books and Manorama Books respectively.
