Shazai Ilmi, a renowned former television journalist and anchor, is an Indian politician. Earlier a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, Shazia joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in January 2015. She has been an anchor on Star News, where she hosted and produced the popular prime-time news show Desh Videsh. She led a media campaign for an anti-corruption bill (Jan Lokpal Bill).

Her 15 years of experience in the media industry is diverse in the field of television news and documentary production. She produced several shows on current affairs and documentaries highlighting issues on gender bias and the rights of minority groups in India. One of her shows Dr. Kans featured sting operations on doctors involved in illegal female foeticide. The aftermath of the operation witnessed the suspension of the medical licenses of such doctors. She has also been associated with other renowned news mediums such as Zee News and The Times of India.

She is a columnist with India's prominent newspaper The Indian Express. She is a spokesperson of BJP and has written numerous articles addressing social, political, and current affairs. Fondly known for her firm and strong views, She is probably the only working woman in her family and boldly represents the true women-spirit.

She has been an active member of the International Association of Women in Radio and Television. Her engaging film P.O. 418 Siyasat Kanpur, concerning an Urdu newspaper's striving struggle for survival, was screened at the IAWRT film festival in 2011. She co-directed a 1996 documentary concerning the eco-feminist Vandana Shiva. The film Daughter of the Earth — Portrait of Vandana Shiva, was telecasted by various television broadcasters, including the Discovery Channel.
