Savie Karnel grew up in the coastal town of Karwar on a diet of fish, mangoes and books. When she
was about 11, she decided to become a writer. On growing up she worked as a journalist for The New
Indian Express, Mid-Day and Talk magazine in Bangalore. She now keeps travelling all over the
country collecting stories. She wrote parts of The Nameless God in Pune and most parts amidst the
mountains of Dharamshala.
