Probal DasGupta is a bestselling author, speaker, Indian Army veteran, columnist and business leader.
He is the author of the book - ‘Watershed 1967 - which is the first and only authoritative book on India’s victory over China.
His recent non fiction book ‘Camouflaged: Forgotten Stories from Battlefields’ - spans a century of little known short stories. The book has received rave reviews from media. Probal has been interviewed by The Hindu, Huffington Post, Mint Lounge, CNN IBN, Republic, Times Now and others.
Earlier, his book Watershed 1967 figured in bestseller lists in Asian Age, Hindustan Times, Times of India, Hindu and featured in BBC and Discovery films.
Probal served with the Gorkha Rifles in Indian Army. He has been a business leader and after having headed multinational consulting firms such as Kroll and Crosby Textor in South Asia, he now runs an advisory firm - Birdstone Consulting - and helps Indian firms while investing overseas or in the region.
He also works with cross border disputes, corporate governance and reputation risks.
Probal has a master’s from Columbia University in New York (USA) and studied at Daly College, Indore. He has been a Braun-Myers Fellow, Tata Scholar and RD Sethna Scholar.
He writes a fortnight column for FirstPost and occasionally for Times of India and Deccan Herald.
