Lopamudra Maitra Bajpai is a visual anthropologist, author, and columnist. She works on history, popular culture, and the intangible cultural heritage (ICH) of India and South Asia. She was recently deputed as the Culture Specialist (Research) at the SAARC Cultural Centre, Colombo, Sri Lanka, and has also been a Research Grant Fellow of the Indian High Commission, Sri Lanka. A former Assistant Professor from Symbiosis International Deemed University, Pune, she continues to teach at universities in India and abroad. She has also worked as Correspondent at The Indian Express and The Statesman and she continues to be a regular columnist for international dailies in her areas of research. She has represented India at various international conferences especially concerning ICH (Intangible Cultural Heritage) UNESCO conferences (2019, 2020). She has more than 30 research papers in various international books and journals to her credit. She is the author of 4 books from reputed publishing houses and institutions, including Routledge, UK, Aleph Book Company and IGRMS (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Govt of India, and Bhopal).

She shared with us the stories behind selecting the unique book title and the making of the critically acclaimed design of the cover page. They both together covered various aspects and dimensions related to the history, significance, influential nature and beauty of folktales around the globe.
