Gayatri Datar is a popular Marathi actress, known for Tula Pahate Re (2018). She did her schooling from Mumbai and is an Engineering Graduate. She started her career in acting by working in Marathi serials. She has done one short film titled 'Intolerence'.
I was raised in middle class family but my parents gave me enough freedom. I am true Punekar. Then as career was concern, I opted engineering as a career option, academically though. My parents was telling to go for science but I wasn’t much interested. Acting, I began when I was in 7th or 8th class. There I thought of becoming an actress. Parents wasn’t very convincing initial but after completing engineering I tell them that now I will do what I wanted to do. So I started to give auditions. I had given numerous auditions.
In such one audition I got selected for “Tula Pahte Re”. I didn’t know that lead cast was of Subodh bhave. I met him when I was in 4 th class and he attended it for some function. I also have a photograph with him. Many thought that it was marketing propaganda but no, it’s true. I learn a lot in this journey and I’m still learning. Both of our director were amazing who taught a new acting perspective.
I am not very techno savvy. I hardly use social media, that too only for working purposes. I don’t like updating others about what I’m doing, actually it’s absolutely unnecessary. I love trekking. Initially I was afraid of heights, even on the stairs. But then my father took me on trekking one day help me to dissolve my fear. I’m very happy to participate in this lit fest.
