Anvita Sudarshan has been all over the place. Literally, and metaphorically. From having
grown up in three continents, five countries and seven cities, to editing Geo-Junior at the
age of 14, working at Tinkle and participating (and winning a few too, in the process) in a
number of beauty pageants from Femina Miss India to Miss India Worldwide. Her experiences in
the latter led to her first book, ‘Beauty Queen – Pathway to Pageantry’ which can best be
described as a one stop sourcebook on everything you have ever wanted to know about
pageantry – its meaning, history, inner mechanics, organization and required preparedness.
Today, she co-runs an organic farm and a bookshop in Mysuru, while attempting to pen down a
few written words.
