Ali was born in the historic city of Lucknow (India). After his school education, he went to the university town of Aligarh (India) for his undergraduate studies, and then to the environmental and political-cultural capitals of Germany (Freiburg and Berlin) for his MA and PhD.

As a Senior Fellow at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER) in New Delhi, Ali continues to write papers, books, and reports of specialist and general interest. He also occasionally writes columns in newspapers like The Times of India, The Hindu, The Economic Times, The Financial Express and Business Standard.

The current situation of the country is such that the economy is shaken and there is a lot of insecurity in the mind of the common man. However, India stands to overcome these hitches and come up tops. The panel here is discussing what they country and its leadership will do post covid to enhance the health of the economy with India’s Democracy. The health of the nation was written by Ali Mehdi who is also a multi-talented personality. He wrote this book before Covid-19 but the thoughts and information in this book is valid even today. Every chapter in the book is about how India can become healthy as a nation.
