A Theatre graduate of Smith College, Massachusetts, Adithi Rao was assistant director on the Hindi cult film Satya, and later a writer/editor on the travel channel of Indya.com.

“Noon Chai and a Story”, “Boy, Bear,” “Growing up in Pandupur,” “The Bhootbusters of Himmatnagar”, “Shakuntala & other Timeless Tales of Ancient India” and “Chuchu Manthu’s Jar of Toffees” are her books for children. Her YA novel “Candid Tales: India on a Motorcycle” was selected to the Parag Honour List, 2020, while her short stories have appeared in anthologies across publishing houses, and in English textbooks all over India.

Adithi has written two books for adults -“Left from the Nameless Shop” (HarperCollins, 2019) and “Being Sheela” (HarperCollins 2020). Her adult short fiction and feature articles have appeared in Indian and international literary journals. The rights to her film scripts have been bought by Aamir Khan Productions Ltd. and Excel Entertainment. She is currently scripting a play titled “The Nights” for Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, and also conducts creative writing workshops. You can find her on www.adithirao.com
