Zahida Whitaker is the author of 22 books, most of them about wildlife and conservation. They include Termite Fry, Andamans Boy and Salim Ali for Children. She has also taught, and been principal , in two schools and is currently the Managing Trustee of the Madras Crocodile Bank, which she co-founded in 1976 along with her ex-husband Rom.
