Moupia Basu grew up in the Delhi of the 1970s-80s. She studied English Literature in Delhi University and has worked as a journalist with some of the top publications in the country.

She has traveled extensively across India and explored its rich and diverse cultural heritage and social fabric. She is the author of Khoka, published by The National Book Trust of India, The Queen's Last Salute and the e-book Anarkali and Salim - A Retelling of Mughal-e-Azam, both published by Juggernaut Books. She lives in Pune.
