I began professional life as a Sub-editor & Reporter with the Free Press Journal - a Mumbai-based newspaper with the reputation of being the voice of the common man, and had earlier earned its spurs speaking truth to power during the freedom struggle. Since then, I have in succession, and sometimes in parallel, assumed avatars of advertising copywriter, internal communicator, scriptwriter of documentary films, corporate brand builder, freelance journalist, consultant and now, author. I joined Larsen & Toubro in 1977, and have continued to be with the engineering and construction conglomerate, currently as a communication consultant. My stock-in trade is to use the written and spoken word to tell, sell, guide, persuade, engage, enthuse and entertain. Articles written by me have featured in The Times of India, The Indian Express, The Hindu and The Week On Line. My book ‘Masala Chai for the Soul’- a tongue-in-cheek guide to lasting happiness - currently ranked No. 1 in its category according to Amazon rankings. I co-authored another book ‘A.M. Naik The Man Who Built Tomorrow’ with Priya Kumar. It has been published by HarperCollins and was released early this month.
